After Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Kim Kardashian posted her family’s Christmas card picture on Instagram this weekend, fans started speculating that the mom-of-four photoshopped her six-year-old daughter North into the pic because the lighting on her was different from the rest of the family. During Tuesday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Kardashian admitted that everyone was right, and she had to use Photoshop because North refused to be a part of the family photo shoot.
The photo featured Kim, her husband Kanye West, and their four kids – North, Saint, 4, Chicago, 2, and Psalm, 7 months – all wearing gray sweats and white socks while sitting on stairs. And the 39-year-old said that getting all of her kids together smiling in a room brings serious anxiety.

“North was having a day, so she refused to be in the shoot,” Kardashian told DeGeneres. “She just was crying because she wanted her specific hairstyle, whatever. I said, ‘Fine you’re not gonna be in the card. That’s the decision, you’re not gonna be in the card. I’m just going to take the family card without you.’ And she was fine with that. The next day she woke up and was like ‘Mommy, I really want to do a card.’”
Kardashian said that North told her she wanted to do a photo shoot with her, and she was lucky the photographer was still in town. When she came back to the house, the photographer shot Kim and North together, but Kim didn’t have any makeup on. So, they cut her out of the re-shoot, and used an image of North to Photoshop into the family pic.
Kardashian loves how the card turned out, calling it “beautiful.” And, she says she would rather do it this way because of the anxiety she went through trying to get all of the kids to cooperate at the same time.
The KKW Beauty mogul also explained why she didn’t join her extended family for a full Kardashian-Jenner pic this year. Kardashian said it was “a time thing,” and it’s not her job to get everyone to do a card. Instead, she wanted to do a pic with her husband and kids, and that was dramatic enough.

Keeping Up With the Kardashians just aired their Season 17 finale, but the family will be back next year with new episodes on E!. And, Kim Kardashian says that her feud with Kourtney during Season 18 “gets worse before it gets better.”
